User Guidelines

When borrowing

We will create a library card for you.
Please present proof of your name and address.
This card can be used at the village library and village community centers.
(Only people in Tokaimura or people who commute to work or school to Tokaimura can use community centers).
For Books and picture-story shows, you can borrow up to 10 books for 15 days.
For magazines, you can borrow up to 3 magazines for15 days.
For CDs and DVDs, you can borrow 2 CDs/DVDs for 15 days.

When returning

You can return the things you borrowed at the counter without your library card.
In case the library is closed, please place the things into the postbox. There are separate postboxes for books and CDs/DVDs. Please place them in the right postbox.
You can return the things either at the village library or any of the village community centers.

When looking for a book

If you cannot find the book you would like to read, or you don’t know how to search it, please ask the librarian.
The library also has foreign language publications.
There is a corner for western books, English magazines such as "Hir@gana Times", "TIME", "NewsWeek", "Good House Keeping" and English newspaper such as "JAPAN TIMES".

To reserve a book or other goods

You can reserve the book you want to read by the search machine that is in the library or on the home page.
A password is required for reservation. You can register at the counter.
You can reserve up to 10 books, 3 magazines, 2 CDs/DVDs.
